Isidore Writer generates a book chapter by chapter and produces demonstration EPUB and PDF exports. One EPUB passed epubcheck; a “KDP-ready” verdict is not a guarantee.

What it does
A useful function, and a behaviour you can actually inspect.
Build a book project
Title, genre, outline, and style define the project. The book is then generated chapter by chapter.
Export for publishing
One EPUB passed epubcheck and a demonstration PDF was produced. The “KDP-ready” verdict can still be blocked.
Protect author accounts
Two-factor authentication exists. A September 3 audit identified OAuth bypasses; the fix is in an unpublished working branch.
Keep cost under control
A per-project cost quota exists. Regenerating a chapter could bypass it; the fix is in an unpublished working branch.
Choose your environment
Isidore works with the model provider of your choice, via API key or a local model, and self-hosts with Docker and MongoDB.

Honest limits
What still needs to be done or verified.
- Isidore is being hardened. There is not yet a public instance or online payment; demos are by appointment.
- Security and generation defects (project isolation, OAuth, quotas, double worker, KDP verdict) were found on September 3. Fixes are in an unpublished working branch.
- Literary quality depends on the chosen model. Isidore structures and exports, but it does not replace editorial review.
- Word and view counters visible in some demonstration screenshots sit at 0 because of a schema mismatch between the interface and the statistics model.
Product status
A self-hostable prototype, with no public instance.
As of September 2, 2026, Isidore Writer had 1,420 passing tests. An 8,640-word work was generated and exported as a 27-page PDF with no words lost.
